1. Project Overveiw (Scope of Work):

• Specific deliverables (number of HDR photos, 4K video length, or 3D mapping files).
• Exact location and date/time of the shoot.
• Project objectives and any specific angles or technical requirements you need.

2. Regulatory & Airspace Verification:

• A major part of what you pay for during booking is the pilot ensuring the flight is legal. This includes airspace checking, verifying if the location is in controlled airspace (like near an airport), LAANC authorization, and permits securing any local municipal permits required for specific city operations.

3. Logistics & Safety Planning:

• The provider conducts a "pre-flight" mission plan which involves weather monitoring.
• On-site safety review: Planning for ground hazards and ensuring the flight path avoids non-participating people or property.
• Insurance validation: Confirming that liability coverage (often ranging from $1M to $5M) is active for your specific site and date.

4. Agreement and retainer payment to officially "book":

• Sign a service agreement. This contract outlines payment terms, cancellation policies, and footage rights (who owns the raw and edited files).
• Pay the booking fee. This non-refundable fee secures the pilot's time and prevents them from booking other clients for that window.
